What is the best tool today for developing an email marketing campaign?

Being the cheapskate that I am I like free tools if at all possible. That said, I use MailChimp because you can get started for free. MailChimp is a powerful tool that includes automation so you can create trigger events to send an email and thereby develop elaborate email chains. It also includes signup forms to capture information about the prospect and includes reporting. I also like its ability to create templates so that all the emails reinforce your branding. All these MailChimp features are free until you exceed 2,000 subscribers and allows you to send up to 12,000 emails a month. Once your business exceeds these free account thresholds you should have sufficient traction to justify moving up to a paid account. For years I was way more partial to using Social Media over emails in my marketing until I discovered an interesting fact about social media last summer. In fact, I wrote a blog post about my experience called “Is Social Media Really a Better Marketing Strategy than Email Messaging?” Since my epiphany about the greater role of email marketing and the writing of the article, I have been contemplating ways to integrate email marketing at hashed.website/steve in more productive ways. Unfortunately, while I was developing a plan to become more active in email marketing, I was forced to restore my website last fall and in the process lost access to the email contact lists I had compiled for years so I was back at square one. Recently at hashed.website/steve, we implemented an email marketing strategy centered around MailChimp after much research so your question is pretty timely for me. That said while I have used MailChimp in the past I am by no means an expert on getting the most of its features. To that end, I leveraged the expertise of a MailChimp expert to help me design and implement my MailChimp based email strategy. Hope this answers your question. Steve |
